Ho Ho Ho! Happy Holiday Break!

With the winter break upon us, students in 3rd grade at #4 school made snow globes. We talked about what things are usually in snow globes: a person, a place, or a thing (also known as a noun!). Students then used colored pencils on blue paper to make a wintery scene.
Here's wishing you and your family a very happy holiday break and we'll see you in 2015!

Project Preview: 5th grade Egyptian Art

Students in 5th and 6th grade spend the year learning about the art of historical cultures. These cultures are based on the what students learn in their social studies lessons. After learning about the cave drawings at Lascaux, students are now learning about the art of the ancient Egyptians.
In November, students created a cartouche that displayed their name in hieroglyphs. This month and next, students will make self portraits in the style of the Egyptians.
