Colors, colors everywhere: 4th grade color wheel

Students learn about color every year. In Kindergarten they are introduced to the concept of primary (red, yellow, blue) and secondary (purple, green, orange) colors. From there students go on to learn about warm and cold colors, monochromatic colors, and in 4th grade they are introduced to tertiary colors (colors created by mixing primary and secondary colors).
For this projects, students used only toe three primary colors to create the 12 standard colors in the color wheel. Once all their colors were mixed and painted onto their papers, students were asked to draw a symbol of something they like, something that would represent who they are. Students traced the symbol onto each color and will eventually cut out and mount all the pieces to make their own color wheel.
